Canadian Band Selected To Promote US Beer

Ottawa, ON-based hard rock band Order of the Day joins Stereophonics, Jars of Clay and Rhys Fulber (Delerium) as one of only 15 artists selected to promote Bud Select, a new full-bodied, bold tasting beer from Budweiser available only in the US. The band was asked to submit two songs, Pretty Things and What Are You Waiting For, from their début EP Truth Be Told, which is scheduled for release in April 2006. The songs, as well as the music of the 14 other artists, will be featured at www.budtune.com, a website developed by VerveLife, the industry leading developer of branded digital music experiences, based in Chicago, IL.

The promotion, which is taking place in the United States, will see 10,000 vouchers, redeemable for 5 free downloads each (a total of 50,000 downloads!), distributed in bars and nightclubs across the country. Recipients will then be able to choose 5 songs to download from the 15 artists featured on www.budtune.com.

“The potential exposure of our music to the American market is huge for us,” says Order of the Day guitarist Tom Pambrun. “And, to be able to work with an innovative company like VerveLife is really exciting. They have fresh and creative ideas and we can’t wait to see where this takes us.”

Justin Jarvinen, CEO and founder of VerveLife, says “VerveLife is excited to have the opportunity to work with Order of the Day. Their sound is what the hip twenty somethings are listening to, and that’s exactly why VerveLife and Budweiser selected them for the BudTune.com music promotion. We look forward to working with Order of the Day again.”

“It’s getting harder and harder to break new bands these days,” says Pambrun, “so to be able to get on board something like this at the ground level is an extraordinary opportunity and we plan to make the most of it.”

The Bud Select promotion begins on March 20th, bringing together the future of music and the future of the NBA, at the NCAA Final Four Tournament in the following cities before spreading to the rest of the United States: Chapel Hill, NC, Indianapolis, IN, Lawrence, KS, Gainesville, FL and Baton Rouge, LA.
