Carole Pope – August 10, 2025 – Stone Crop Acres Winery & Vineyard

August 10, 2025 – StoneCropAcres Winery + Vineyard

“Music that makes you think and dance at the same time” Carole’s international sensation, High School Confidential (from “Avoid Freud”) in 1980 – quickly became one of the first anthems you could dance to at your prom or school party. We are thrilled to welcome Carole back in 2025

Agent provocateur singer/songwriter Carole Pope is the co-founder of the band Rough Trade. Their signature electronic rock sound, rooted in influences as varied as Punk, Glam, Brel and Brill, coupled with lyrics and a stage show that pushed the boundaries of sexuality, sexual politics, and the status quo, was designed to make you think and dance at the same time. It was a formula that clearly enshrined the band into the consciousness and playlists of fans the world over.

Pope is a 3-time Juno (Female Vocalist), 3-time CASBY, Genie Award-winning, Canada’s Walk of Fame, songwriters Hall of Fame, Indie Hall of Fame, and 4X Gold, Platinum, and Polaris Prize Nominee. Pope’s lyric’s and live performance was a clarion call to arms for a revolution that helped to pave the way for future Canadian female artists  including Peaches, Tegan & Sara and k.d. Lang, while becoming a worldwide cult influence on artists from Madonna to Lady Gaga to David Bowie, the latter inviting Rough Trade, in 1983, to open the Canadian leg of the iconic Serious Moonlight Tour playing to capacity crowds as large as 60,000. Pope performed in the R.Murray Schafer Opera Patria and guest starred in Eve Ensler’s smash hit The Vagina Monologues.
