February Update

One of Aaron Saloman‘s tracks I played on, “Muse’s Whip” will be track of the day at Garageband.com, in the hard rock genre, tomorrow, Thursday, February 7th. If you want to hear any of Aaron’s other music see his MP3.com page.

There’s some new photos on the THERMOclinE site, and I posted a video clip of THERMO from Breakfast@the The NewRO on my video page.

June Update

One of the tracks I recorded with Robert Farrell, “Hug Me, Squeeze Me,” is up to number 23 today (in between Linkin Park and Faith Hill) on the MP3.com top 40 chart. You can download some of Robert’s music at MP3.com or check out my MP3.com station that has downloads of artists that I have played with.

A few gigs coming up this week, Wednesday is The Long Goners, a cover band that I have been playing with for the last few weeks, I still tell them I’m filling in, but I think I’m their drummer now. The Long Goners play drinkin’ music, some rock, celtic and a few surprises that I won’t tell you about. Aaron Saloman‘s CD release party is on Thursday at Climax (the old Molly McGuire’s) with opening act Sarah Sedgman (doing an acoustic set). Friday is Robert Farrell at the Whipping Post and Saturday is THERMOclinE at the CHEO BBQ with a few other great bands. Check my gigs page for other upcoming dates.

On the gear side of things, I have started using the new Sabian HHX 14″ Power Hi-hats and the 20″ Power Ride, they sound great, I can’t say enough good things about them. See my gear page for my current cymbal set-up.

March Update

Aaron Saloman has posted an MP3 track of “Alone In Your Song,” one of the songs I recorded with him back in February. Check out his site (www.aaronmusic.com) for the MP3 and some photos from the session.

Tammy Raybould has been nominated in the “Best New Solo Artist” category at the 2001 Canadian Radio Music Awards for her song “Loving You“. Tammy and band will be doing a few shows during Canadian Music Week in Toronto next weekend.

My my live dates page for upcoming shows, I just removed some upcoming THERMOclinE shows that we had to cancel, due to illness in the band. Check the THERMOclinE site for upcoming news and video/radio request information.

I also did the Jimi Hendrix Tribute show again this year with Tony D, Trevor Finlay, Sean Burke and Sal (Artificial Joy Club) sang a few songs. Barrymore’s was packed for it, this was the third time we’ve done it.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I know I haven’t done an update in a while but things have been a bit crazy. Not a lot of live dates the past little while, but other “behind the scenes” kind of stuff going on, and it seems to take up a lot of my time. Learning songs, writing charts, web stuff and my life, etc.

Tammy Raybould and band had it’s first live performance in Ottawa in quite some time last week, the show featured some of Tammy’s new material and over the x-mas holidays I redid her web site (www.tammyraybould.com), which once again I was supposed to do for a long time.

Other exciting news for Tammy is that “Loving You” is being featured on “Dawson’s Creek” Episode #70 (#412 “The Te Of Pacey”) which aired in the U.S. yesterday and in Canada on Friday, January 19th. See the “Dawson’s Creek Music Guide” web site.

THERMOclinE‘s video release party, for “Vacant Lot” is this coming weekend (Jan. 20th @ Barrymore’s Music Hall in Ottawa). I have put a up a 30-second clip of the video on the site. The CD “Negative ONE” is being re-released on Sony Imports/Sour Music/Stamina Records in Canada in March. The radio and video campaign starts in February, stay tuned for more info.

I am also playing and recording with singer/songwriter/guitarist Aaron Saloman. He has some cool stuff going on. And playing bass is my buddy “G-ham” — Andy Graham from the TRB band.

I had a quick little last minute session at the beginning of the year with singer/songwriter Susan Wheatley.

The Sarah Sedgman gig in December was cool, there is a possibility of more dates sometime in the future. The band featured Sarah on acoustic guitar and vocals, Colin Mills (from the TRB band) on guitar, Mike Easton and Mike Yelle from Garrity on acoustic guitar and bass. See Sarah’s web site for more info.

If you haven’t been to my site in a while I’ve started to add some photos (possibly some embarrassing ones!), video and audio stuff. I still have a ton more to put on, just not enough time. Unfortunately because of my rush in doing things there are some broken links, so please be calm and don’t freak out. More stuff will be coming soon.
